Sun Paths

“In Glenlough was everything; and still — by the vastness of the scene, by its prevailing quietness no more than by the occasional roar of the surf along the shore, by its solitude no less than in the natures of the few human beings who ever came that way — there was that Presence.”
Rockwell Kent, This Is My Own (1940)
Created as part of Kevin Lowery’s LAND’S END - An Artist’s Journey to Glenlough 100 Years After Rockwell Kent exhibition, Sun Paths is a tribute to Kent’s painting of the same name, inspired by the monumental sea cliffs and untamed Atlantic landscape of County Donegal. The work reflects Kevin’s experience of travelling through and painting a landscape shaped by exposure, isolation and continually changing weather.
The exhibition runs at the Regional Cultural Centre, Letterkenny, from October 3 to November 14, and paintings will be available for collection or delivery after the end of the exhibition.
